Workshop on

Date & Venue: 23 and 24 March 2000, The
University of Edinburgh Management School.
Summary
Innovation is seen as key to sustained competitiveness,
but innovation without capturing knowledge about the process of innovation
and change may not improve an organisation's ability to innovate
in future! This was the theme of a 2 day joint workshop between the ESRC's
Innovation
Programme, and the EPSRC's Systems
Engineering for Business Process Change programme. This event brought
researchers from each programme together with the practitioner communities
represented in the research. A series of presentations explored this
theme from both programme's perspectives with the objectives of:
-
Reviewing different perspectives on competitiveness
in each community
-
Identifying the potential competitive impact
of applying the tools and techniques emerging from the existing research
-
Identifying overlaps & gaps in the existing
